8x8 Come Away With Me Mini-Album

Wow! Here it is July already and I know things have been very quiet here on the blog, but there's been all kinds of activity going on behind the scenes! I finally cut into my Graphic45 "A Ladies Diary" papers in early June and started an 8x8 album and then this brand new collection hit my doorstep. So...I put the Ladies Diary aside for just a bit and played with some new ideas that I've had brewing for awhile:)

Here is a video and pics of my new Graphic45 "Come Away With Me" album that's been months in the planning and many weeks in the making! I had a few requests for a ring-bound album and I've been wanting to give this a go again, only this time with sewn pages and a lot of interactive flaps. Once I had the papers in hand, I immediately envisioned a vintage style suitcase and a perfect opportunity to use a ring binder on the inside. Little did I know just how challenging it would be to design the pages for this! There were more than a few nights over the past 3 weeks where I couldn't fall asleep because my brain wouldn't shut off:) I don't think I've ever been happier to complete an album, see it all put together and have everything work the way I had planned!

I'm now turning my focus for the rest of this week on the tutorial write-up of this album and I should have the PDF tutorial available in my Etsy shop at some point this 4th of July weekend. I'm taking it nice and slow with the write-up as there's a lot of information to get in there. This will be a full start-to-finish tutorial including how I attach the ring binder to the spine, connect the covers, all page designs and embellishment instructions and a printable template to cut out and trace the leather pieces I've used for the closure and the spine.

This album is listed on eBay starting Tue. July 8th and ending Sunday July13th HERE.

I'll post more info about supplies needed, etc. later this week when I list the tutorial and let you know here on the blog when it's available.

I hope you'll go out to the video where you can see these pages in action:)

  2. I just bought it so you know I liked it. Very nice can't wait to try the binding. Found the large Tim Holtz ring binders at Hobby Lobby last
week and bought them with a coupon. I'm planning to use Christmas paper and make an album for a granddaughter.
