Graphic45 By The Sea Album Photos and Info

Hi again! I'm working right along on the tutorial write-up for the By The Sea album and I'm still tracking to finish and list it in the shop on Friday. Meanwhile, I wanted to share some photos and information about the album.

This is an 8x8 album with 10 pages (including the insides of the front and back covers). In order to make it exactly as shown, you will need 3 of the 8x8 paper pads and one sheet of the 12x12 "Sand and Surf" paper. I also used the pockets/tags sheet, 12x12 sticker sheet and the chipboard tags for embellishment. As I mentioned in the video, I love nautical/beach themed supplies, so I also purchased stamp sets 1 and 3 from this collection (you can never have too many stamps, right?) and used them on the inside of some of the flaps and as embellishment.

I've used a tan/parchment cardstock that I purchased at Michael's on the inside of smaller flaps to allow for a place to play with stencils and stamps:) I also thought it would make a good spot for some journaling. If you want to save a little on supply cost, you can always purchase just 2 of the Graphic45 8x8 paper pads and substitute more of the neutral cardstock on the insides of the larger flaps.

You don't need to sew the pages if you don't want to. There are specific steps for sewing in the tutorial and easy to skip over those. I did a bit of straight stitching on the closure and the fabric on the spine. If you don't have a sewing machine, I do recommend hand sewing at least the closure if you're using similar materials to prevent fraying.

I've used the Spellbinder Labels 21 Nestabilities for the edges of the flaps throughout the album. I've included instructions in the tutorial for how to use these dies on the edge and creating a template for easier placement and/or hand cutting with scissors. You can also substitute a die of your choice.

There's a full supply list provided, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to gather supplies beforehand.

I'll post again this Friday when the tutorial is available:)

This completed album is now listed on eBay starting Thursday 4/3/14 and running 5 days ending on Tuesday 4/8/14 HERE.

  2. Once again another stunning album!! I wish I could afford to buy one of your albums as it would be a treasure. I think I am definitely going to have to get the tutorial on this one. I purchased the Magnolia Way tutorial and made a birthday album which I will use for my daughters fifth birthday photos. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with us.
